APA-APCO policing exhibition in Manchester
The APA-ACPO International Policing Exhibition, the UK's biggest and most influential event targeted at anyone involved in policing and security, is being held from 30th June - 1st July at Manchester Central
Hosted by the Association of Police Authorities (APA) and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), in association with the Home Office, this leading event features the latest technology and services for policing and security from over 120 leading international suppliers and is free to attend for all police staff, associates and colleagues.
Free accredited training for exhibition visitors
The exhibition features educational workshops, presentations and case studies from organisations currently engaged in groundbreaking projects with police forces and authorities. Those involved in compiling the programme include the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA), ISIS and the Metropolitan Olympic Procurement. These unique training sessions will cover topics ranging from forensics, fraud, public order and serious crime to the Olympics, leadership and management training and procurement advice and offer valuable free training for operational staff.

The latest technology and services
The selection of technology and services available at the exhibition is aimed at helping ease the challenges faced by police in the current climate and includes the latest advances in security, surveillance, public protection, counter terror, domestic extremism, public order, serious organised crime, child protection and the Olympics.
Amongst the many IT and communications providers Panasonic will present their new CF-19 Toughbook and L-3 Communications STRATIS will be there to discuss their low cost and low risk Command & Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) support services. Logica will be at the show to discuss how it is working with its partners and the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) to design, build and operate the Police National Database (PND).
Global defence companies Northrop Grumman Information Technology, 3tc Software, Global Marine Systems and world-leading lean based solutions supplier Simpler are also exhibiting.
Vodafone, Blackberry, 02 and ttMobiles will offer the latest in sophisticated mobile data technology and Public-I, experts at providing online engagement tools to public sector organisations, will be giving advice on how they can help police forces and authorities to increase transparency and engagement with communities through social web media.
The latest in security and surveillance technology will be available from new exhibitor IDDynamics, who specialise in thermal imaging (T.I) solutions and CA Traffic will be promoting their technically advanced ANPR camera, Evo8.
Global producers of protective body armour systems and accessories, Hawk Protection Ltd, will be showcasing a wide range of styles and systems for operational requirements protecting against ballistic, stab and spike threats. Cooneen Watts & Stone will be displaying their expertly specified and designed uniform clothing for the UK police forces and the MOD.
The latest in police vehicle technology will be available from Tempus, and Land Rover are showcasing an array of police vehicles from across the ages as part of their ten-year anniversary. The latest information on police helicopters will be available from the world's number 1 civil and parapublic helicopter manufacturer, Eurocopter.
Official bodies offering training and advice at the exhibition include ACPO, APA, Home Office, ADS, National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA), National Extremism Tactical Co-ordination Unit (NETCU), Police Superintendents' Association, Identity and Passport Service, Serious Fraud Office and forces including Greater Manchester Police and Norfolk Constabulary.
Live demonstrations and feature areas
Following the success of the live demonstrations at the 2009 event, the 2010 event will host a range of live training features including canine bomb and drug search demonstrations, public safety cycling and hand-to-hand combat taking place throughout the two days of the show.
The APA-ACPO National Policing Conference
The APA-ACPO National Policing Conference will run alongside the exhibition from 29th June – 1st July and is a closed session for members of the Association of Chief Police Officers, Association of Police Authorities and the Home Office. This prestigious conference will deliver a key focus for the policy and direction of policing following the general election. The conference programme will include topical presentations on the 2012 Olympic Games, Counter Terrorism, Cyber crime and Tackling Violence and Serious Organised Crime among others.
