BP sets up disaster management team
According to London's Sunday Times, BP's board has approved the creation of a disaster management organisation to deal with the aftermath of the worst oil spill in American history
The disaster team will be headed by Robert Dudley, the former head of the TNK-BP Russian joint venture. In 2008 he was forced into hiding after a scare campaign allegedly organised by a group of disgruntled Russian oligarchs.
The responsibilities of Dudley's unit are belived to include management of legal settlements, coastal restoration, co-ordination of the clean-up and rehabilitating BP's image, especially in Gulf coast communities.
