Cash boost for Hull flood defence plan research
26 January 2012
Web magazine Karoo reports that efforts to prevent flooding in Hull and East Yorkshire have been given a funding boost by the government.
According to Karoo, the Environment Agency has awarded £365,000 to East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council to fund their research into flood alleviation.
The authorities are looking at ways to protect properties and avoid a repeat of the 2007 floods, which affected around 10,000 local homes and businesses.
