Cloud Security Challenge

03 March 2010

The Global Security Challenge (GSC), providers of the leading international competition for security innovators, has announced the launch of the Cloud Security Challenge

The award includes a $10,000 cash grant, sponsored by HP's central advanced research group HP Labs, and mentorship by an executive from CapGemini. Up to three finalists will also be invited to test their technology in an HP Labs cloud test-bed.

Cloud computing is increasingly being evaluated and adopted by businesses. Governments and industry around the world are attracted to the benefits of the cloud, including reduced costs and increased business efficiency, but may be hesitant because of possible security and privacy risks. Can new security innovation answer the issues surrounding the cloud, including protecting cloud access, regulatory compliance and data integrity?
