
DHS awards innovation grants
US companies Cogent Innovations and Lisle Technology Partners have been awarded grants from the US Homeland Security Innvoation & Entrepreneurship Center
Cogent Innovations, Inc. develops and markets NeXEO (Network eXtesible Emergency Operations), a web-based software system that provides communications and logging of data during emergency events, such as disasters and homeland security threats. NeXEO gathers real-time information resources from a client-determined library, and then processes and presents them in a clear manner for use by an Emergency Operations Center (EOC). NeXEO is National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) compliant and is interoperable with multiple methods of communications.
Athena Security (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lisle Technology Partners) has developed AthenaVerify, a risk mitigation program. It provides networks security intelligence around operational action to protect against a cyber-attack, by automatically verifying that network policy directives have been accurately executed. AthenaVerify provides a common platform on which the network group and the security group in an an enterprise can can communicate and conduct numerous emergency management related tasks and analyses.
