Emergency exercise at Dungeness A nuclear power station

07 November 2007

A Level 2 Nuclear Emergency Exercise will be held at the Dungeness A power station on 13 March 2008

Level 2 exercises are carried out every three years at each nuclear licensed site, in accordance with the requirements of Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations (REPPIR). This is to ensure that nuclear emergency response readiness is regularly tested.

A Level 2 exercise will test local off-site facilities and the multi-agency response.  A full report prepared by the exercise management team is prepared after the exercise and this will be made available to the public. Typically, this will be available approximately two months after the exercise.
