Fears rise over internal IT security breaches

A poll carried out for the Institute of Chartered Accountants and SunGard Availability Services has found concerns over the risks to business operations posed by external and internal IT security breaches and website outages have increased as a result of the recession

The poll also showed that two thirds of organisations that responded believe they face greater operational risks than compared with 12 months ago.

The research showed that internal security breaches, (including employee theft of sensitive data,) external security breaches and website outages were a major source of concern for 39% of the finance professionals surveyed.
