IPI Partners With SunGard Availability Services

27 October 2009

IPI, a recognised leader in the design, installation and support of national and global secure networking infrastructures, has partnered with SunGard Availability Services to offer its customers access to the full range of SunGard's services, including Managed IT Services, Electronic Data Vaulting, Workplace Recovery and Consulting

The agreement allows IPI to provide its customers with a network of resilient data centre support from SunGard, including Technology Centre 4 (TC4) in Elland, which serves the Leeds and Manchester area. SunGard Availability Services is the pioneer and leading provider of Information Availability services .

The location of TC4 and the network of SunGard's services are ideal for IPI given its national customer base, which includes organisations across retail, construction, financial and legal sectors. IPI designs bespoke solutions for each of its customers including local and wide area networks, security and voice solutions. Working with SunGard Availability Services helps IPI customers to benefit from SunGard's UK wide portfolio of flexible and scalable solutions, just as if SunGard was another site on their corporate network.

SunGard's UK facilities include four highly resilient Technology Centres and 20-plus recovery sites, providing optimum resilience and availability due to the triangulation of diverse and separate tera-and giga-bit links– IPI customers adopting these services will benefit from SunGard's highly resilient and supported IT infrastructure.

Don McQueen, IPI's Managing Director, made the following statement regarding the partnership; "For many years IPI has been providing highly resilient local and wide area network services to a wide variety of customers. The partnership with SunGard allows us to provide a new dimension to our ever evolving portfolio which enhances our customer solutions and helps meet the varied requirements of each customer. We have a reputation for excellent service delivery and support, so it makes sense to partner with an industry leading company that shares the same values and has a proven ability to do so."

Keith Tilley, managing director UK and executive vice president Europe, SunGard Availability Services, said: "We're working with an increasing number of organisations that are recognising the benefits of outsourcing their data centre operations to us to manage, allowing them to focus on their key business. Resilience and recoverability are essential to the success of any organisation, particularly during a recession when round-the-clock availability is crucial – not just to delivering consistent and reliable levels of service, but for instilling customer confidence.

"The locality of our Technology Centres in Elland and the London area, the resilience of our wider network of facilities, and our ability to provide a full range of managed IT services, means IPI and its customers will not miss a beat when it comes to keeping their data safe and available 24/7."
