Intergraph upgrades incident response solutions

07 August 2007

To promote responder safety and facilitate dynamic response, Intergraph Corporation has enhanced its leading emergency incident response, planning and reporting solutions for public safety and security agencies. The refinements will provide dispatch and field personnel with increased access to critical information in situations where saving time means saving lives

The latest version of Intergraph's computer aided dispatch solution offers a real-time link between dispatch and fire records technologies and supports Oracle and SQL Server database mirroring, enabling a geographic split of database servers to ensure constant database accessibility. Intergraph's CAD 8.1 includes a scheduler tool for planning and management of non-emergency events, as well as an ambulance response tool that facilitates multi-agency response and transport and advanced towing capability to streamline the request process.

Intergraph's mobile data and tracking solutions can now be used with web browser based personal communication devices, including the BlackBerry 8700 and Motorola Q. This enables public safety officers to utilize existing hardware and access essential, real-time data from the field without employing a laptop.

Additionally, Intergraph's I/Mobile technology is now enhanced with intelligence and visualization capabilities by integrating information from Pictometry, a provider of digital, aerial oblique imagery and measuring software systems. Previously available only in CAD, this refinement enables field personnel to access aerial images that provide views from different angles, supplying valuable visuals intelligence that can be leveraged in incident response or strategic response planning efforts.

Intergraph's records management solutions enable officers and property or evidence technicians to process several items at once, saving valuable time, especially for agencies that maintain large property stores. Additionally, a training management system provides a mechanism to track all aspects of employee training including available courses, instructors and their certifications. It also provides reminders for recertification and upcoming courses.

"Intergraph's latest generation of public safety software further empowers dispatchers and responders with critical information, enabling them to respond effectively while operating at maximum capacity," said Reid French, chief operating officer, Intergraph Corporation. "These refinements underscore Intergraph's commitment to enhancing our emergency incident response, planning and reporting solutions to meet the evolving needs of public safety agencies worldwide."
