Limited official understanding of geography of extremism
04 February 2008
The Guardian newspaper has accused the government of having a very limited knowledge of the geography of violent extremism in Britain
According to the Guardian, the government will be distributing £45m over the next three years for communities to build resilience to combat terrorism. But the criteria being used to distribute the money are crude and would miss areas like Crawley, which was home to three of the five men convicted for the plot to bomb the Bluewater shopping centre.
