NATO wants help with crystal ball gazing
NATO is inviting proposals from organisations which can help the alliance to improve its military capabilities to meet 21st century defense requirements
This transformation work encompasses the need to properly identify and prioritize emerging security challenges that the Alliance may face and the corresponding implications.
The Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) has directed the development of an intellectual framework to support this evaluation – Multiple Futures. The NATO request for proposals document states: "The SACT Multiple Futures (MF) Project will build a MF Intellectual Framework identifying relevant Drivers of change and several plausible Futures. The MF framework will focus thinking and improve understanding of how the world may change so that military-strategic implications can be deduced.
"These implications will be used to develop the best possible military advice for the Alliance and inform ongoing defence planning processes. This work requires significant research, analysis and information collaboration to complete. A dedicated Information Facilitator is needed to provide archiving and the free flow of information within the project.
"HQ SACT is seeking a Contractor that will work onsite at HQ SACT archiving the research and analysis, developing and maintaining a user friendly website and Weblog (blog). This contract is further described by this statement of work and further direction will be provided by the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR)."
