New Iron Mountain contract with DECC
Following a competitive tender, global leader in information protection and storage services, Iron Mountain, has signed a new contract with the Coal Liabilities Unit (CLU) of the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to continue to service CLU's records and information management requirements for a further ten years to 2019
The contract value is between £10 million and £15 million dependent on the scale of activity required.
The services will be provided to support the CLU, a directorate initially set up within the former Department of Trade and Industry, and which is primarily responsible for administering coal health claims as well as being responsible for the management of British Coal Corporation records.
"Our renewed agreement to work together for the next decade is an endorsement of our working relationship with DECC and our ability to provide a competitive service. We will continue to provide a tailored records management solution to support CLU's work in dealing with the litigation process surrounding the British coal industry's legacy," said Gordon Brockington, Director, Public Sector, Iron Mountain UK.
