New man steers Lifeboats
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution today announces the appointment of its new Chief Executive when the current CEO Andrew Freemantle retires this Autumn - Paul Boissier will be taking the helm at the lifeboat charity in September
The appointment has recently been made by the Institution's Chairman and Trustees following stiff competition for one of the charity sector's most rewarding and prestigious jobs.
Paul Boissier, who recently retired from the Royal Navy, says of his appointment: "I have been absolutely bowled over by the sense of commitment, service, courage and energy that drives the RNLI and its people.
"It is one of the country's most valued and respected charities, doing a uniquely challenging job - and consistently performing to the highest standards. This is no ordinary achievement, but working for the RNLI is no ordinary job: it is a volunteer service, populated by extraordinary men and women, that provides an unparalleled service around the coasts of UK and the Republic of Ireland - and does so in a way that cannot be matched anywhere else in the world.
"For me, it is a huge privilege to be asked to be the Chief Executive of the RNLI and I greatly look forward to taking up the appointment in September."
