Spectra appoints Paul Davis Training Director

21 January 2008

Spectra Telecom, a provider of commercial telecommunications-based resettlement courses for ex-military personnel, has announced the appointment of Paul Davies as Training Director

Davis will be responsible for developing the range of training courses to meet the demand for specialists with the latest technology skills and maximise usage of the company's new bespoke residential training facility at Kingstone in the heart of Herefordshire.

Spectra's resettlement courses are designed for ex military radio operators with considerable experience of combat net radio and working in military operations centres.  They provide up-to-date knowledge of the communications equipment used by security companies and the skills required to manage communications strategies deployed by security, governmental and aid organisations.

Paul Davies has more than twenty five years experience of the telecommunications and training markets and was formerly with the Royal Signals where he gained valuable operational experience of the full range of telecommunications equipment.  He was also responsible for training personnel in the deployment and operation of satellite-based systems.  Paul Davies subsequently joined 3, one of the main mobile network providers, as a line of sight surveyor specialising in the installation of microwave links.  Most recently, he has been deploying and operating telecommunication systems as a contractor for security companies in locations around the world.

Commenting on this new appointment, Simon Davies, Spectra's Managing Director said:  "Paul's operational and training experience and his proven track record of managing complex projects will play an important role in consolidating Spectra's position as the leading supplier of telecommunications-based resettlement courses."

The Spectra Group of companies is based in Herefordshire and is one of the UK's leading providers of commercial telecommunications-based resettlement courses for ex-military personnel.  The company also provides a full range of telecommunication services for a wide range of defence and security clients worldwide and has established an enviable reputation for delivering a high quality, professional service often in hazardous and hostile environments.
