SteelEye deployed for Beijing Metro

28 April 2009

SteelEye Technology, a leading provider of business continuity and disaster recovery solutions for multi-vendor IT infrastructures, today announced that its LifeKeeper for Linux solution was deployed to enable Alstom Transport to ensure business continuity for the Beijing Metro

The implementation delivers train safety and optimized traffic operations while providing system maintenance across Beijing's most critical rail line.

The solution was distributed by iO Partner, an authorized SteelEye solution center in France, and configured by Adelux. Given the success of LifeKeeper in China, Alstom plans to continue working with iO Partner to replicate the Beijing Metro implementation in future metro projects in Europe, Asia and South America.

Alstom can now reach a 99.9 percent uptime rate for business critical applications with a maximum downtime of only two minutes to complete a failover with SteelEye Technology. The implementation of LifeKeeper also enables fault diagnostics to be sent remotely to operators, replacing the need for operators to manually check each deployed server.
