Sungard launches private cloud service

12 October 2009

SunGard Availability Services has today launched its fully-managed private cloud service in the UK: SunGard-as-a-Service.

Its first customer will be its sister company, SunGard Financial Systems, who will use it to provide a secure, reliable platform for its Software-as-a-Service offerings for its customers in the finance sector.

What's different about SunGard's entry into the private cloud space is that its new service is based on 30 years of ensuring the data security and resilience of over 10,000 customers worldwide. With many cloud computing services still facing questions over security and availability, SunGard's heritage and infrastructure means it is well placed to capitalise on this growing market and offer the assurances that big businesses need to feel safe and secure in the cloud.
