Telehouse opens high capacity Docklands centre
Telehouse, a leading provider of global data centres and managed ICT services, today announced the official opening of Telehouse West, its state-of-the-art £80 million flag ship data centre facility. This move marks the latest evolution of the Telehouse brand, which has also seen the organisation expand into emerging markets such as South Africa and Vietnam
As a result, Telehouse's global data centre footprint has now reached 119,000m².
The 35th Telehouse data centre worldwide, West will meet the demands of UK businesses for high-capacity data centres, as well as offering connectivity to over 400 ISPs, carriers, operators and Internet Exchanges. Spread over nine floors, five with a 'localised data centre environment', the custom-built 19,000m² state-of-the-art facility brings the total power at the company's London Docklands site to 40MVA. Four redundant HV power systems on separate grids ensure maximum redundancy and reliability levels of 99.999%. Furthermore, an additional 132K primary sub-station is also being built to provide even greater levels of redundancy protection.
"In a recent survey of UK decision makers from some of the country's top organisations, 89% stated they were keen to secure additional data centre space," said Michelle Reid, Sales and Marketing Director, Telehouse. "This trend is supported by many analysts who have stated that a lack of capacity in the capital is costing the UK economy millions."
