In this practical pragmatic workshop, Andrew Hiles and Ian Pidgen of Kingswell International will review the latest standards in the field and demonstrate new and innovative techniques. Delegates will have the opportunity to develop expertise through hands-on exercises using techniques and procedures to apply their new skills in an industry relevant environment and will receive a FREE Crisis Management(TM) CD, containing templates, models, checklists and formats you can use immediately in order to improve their incident, emergency, business continuity and crisis planning. European Borders: Security, Surveillance and Protection

The European Union has been built on the principles of Liberty, Security and Justice. In the 21st Century the very fabric of the European Ideal finds itself under constant threat. With the multitude of dangers posed by terrorism, illegal immigration, drug and human trafficking, fraud and organised crime, border security has emerged as a top priority for EU officials and Governments right across the continent. The Centre for Parliamentary Studies' major one-day Symposium, European Borders: Security, Surveillance and Protection, seeks to bring together international experience and expertise from high profile figures across the region and beyond. The issues and challenges faced by those who work in this field are complex and are evolving constantly. The Symposium will explore how practitioners and policymakers can meet not only today's challenges but also remain one step ahead of tomorrow's increasingly dynamic and fluid threats to Europe's border security.
